The thing there isn't in Korea.

Have you heard of "SaSa"?
In fact, it's normally a familiar name for women staying in Singapore.
This is a name of the cosmetic chain store.
In this store, you can buy cosmetic products of many famous brand, such as Lancome, Clinique, SK2 and so on, as a relatively cheaper price than other shopping shop.
Especiall, SK2 products is definitely cheaper even than duty free shop as I compared them.
I came to wonder this company so I looked up the internet.
This below is from website www.sasa.com
"Sa Sa International Holdings Limited("Sa Sa") is a leading cosmetic retailing and beauty services group in Asia. Its over 90 retail stores and counters in Asia sell more than 400 brands of skincare, fragrance, make-up and hair care products including private labels and other exclusive international brands. It is now one of the largest cosmetics retail chains in Asia, according to the 'Retail Asia-Pacific Top 500' rankings of KPMG and Retail Asia magazine in 2005. Sa Sa now employs over 2,500 staff in seven markets across the region, covering Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand."
The stores are only located in Asia. But the interesting thing is that Korea and Japan are excepted, although they mainly treat the products of Korea and Japen. One more funny thing I discovered ... "Sa Sa" means "cheap! cheap!" or "buy! buy!" as Korean pronunciation. Anyway, It's really 싸긴 싸다.

New Brand

Cosmetics which I'm adapting my skin to.
I need an alternative to SK2.
It's too lavish for a poor foreign student to use SK2.
There is nothing but to have a grievance aganist my excessively sensitive skin.

Franch Dog...!

sweet hair forceps!
, which I bought in Takesimaya.
It's my favorite color.

A cute Calculator!

Judy presented one to me.
How lovely it is!
What is better is to be light more than it looks.

a pleasing gift

This is a precious fountain pen which cindy gave to me as a gift of my birthday last year.
It's very beautiful like her.

must-have cards

If you want to stay in Singapore, you need these two cards by all means.
One is "cashcard" which is used to pay money through any machine, especally a public duplicator, or in case of requred situation. .
The other is "ez-link card" for use of public transport, such as a bus and MRT.

MRT map

This is MRT(the Mass Rapid Transit) map in Singapore.
It's so simple, comparing Korea Subway Map.
Refer the link!

Newspaper

"TODAY" is free-distributed daily newspaper in Singapore.
Generally in Singapore, "TODAY" and "Straits times", charged newspaper, are representative newspapers. For me, naturally "TODAY" is more familiar one. That is not only because it's just free but because it's better qualified newspaper than I expected.
Anyhow the press is under goverment control, which is one of culture shocks for me. So they've never been dealing with sensitive issues. Instead, I feel like that they try to deal with each topic in depth and variously overall.
As somehow a different subject, there is an interesting story I experienced.
Aganist my question of " what do you think about the regulating speech?",
one Singaporean replied to me that he think that's why Singapore become a developed country compared to other countries around and even in Asia. To sum up his point, the criticism without an alternative hampers developement.
I think, it is too absurd that someone who doesn't have a solution can't say anything.
Criticism has value as itself because it can keep it open that there could exist another better idea.
Anyway, since Singapore is rolling along well, there is nothing to say about that.

Harry Potter

A series of "harry Potter"
I bought it in duty free shop of Changi Airport for my studying English.
but still can't finish reading even a half of these. Puhahah~~!
Each time finishing one book, I'll introduce one by one.

Somebody's opinion

"Smoke them out with shock tactics?"
"Anti-smoking ad. won't deter smokers despite its shock value"
"Ad leaves a bad taste in the mouth"

Stop Smoking??

One of the biggest shocks in Singapre was about the campaign aganist smoking when I first came here.
I'd alrealy known that the price of cigarette is much higher than that of Korea. The thing which made me astonished was not the high cost but the horrible pictures wrapped in every cigarette box.
This ad. which has appeared recently is also another shock.
I can understand the intention to emphasize no smoking. But, it feels like a kind of nuisance rather than giving a warning, especially to nonsmoker.
What do you feel about it?

Is it true that the devil wears PRADA?

I had missed the chance to see the movie in my hometown although wanting to see it.
As I stopped by a bookstore, I happened on this book.
In fact, it isn't easy to understand a novel wriiten in English. Anyway, it's quite interesting and puts me in mind of my former boss.
I think my boss didn't seem a devil, though.

My room......

in my house...

Moving into here, I treated myself to this desk and chair. These quite hook onto me particularly on the price. It took just S$50 to bought thoes from IKEA. But another problem made me inconvenient, which was higher shipping cost than the product itself.
I strongly advise even though it could be troublesome you'd better use a cab when you want to carry stuff bought from IKEA to your house... if it's somwhat passable...

This is a bookcase, the best thing I like in this room.

About the emperor of "Apple"

This is the book I'm reading thesedays.
Actually, I'm being a bit disappointed cos it seems to be nothing but one of cliche biographies. But it may be too early to say. The story I ought to read more isn't finished as yet.
I think it's more exciting to read a biogragh of a great person still alive. The reason is nobody couldn't be sure if the person would eventually remian in our memory as a true protagonist. Personally, I expect Steve Jobs to become the hero in this generation.

extremly cute.....

For the first time

It reminds me of the moment when something soared here inside. That was startpoint which I came to leave for long journey. I was wondering what would happen. Everything was uncertain. That made me excited and nervous. But whatsoever, I'm O.K. The beginning is always good thing just as itself.
